Outfits For Dapper Day | DisneyBound Edition

hey there beautiful geeks and freaks, welcome to this disney blog. Today we will talking about outfits to wear for Dapper Day. These I have put together on my own. These are just some, I have more on my tumblr page if you want to check it out (link will be below). If you saw by the title this is the Disneybound edition. What is Disneybounding?! Well you are basically taking the color scheme from the characters putting them in clothing form. But you dont have to do any vintage looks for Dapper Day. Dapper day is all what you precieve to be dapper. Dapper day is all about sepping out in style in your sunday best. Just like used to back in the day.

For example the Red Queen, from Alice in Wonderland Tim Burton's version, has red for her hair. So you can use a red hat or do a red dress like I did with a black belt since her dress is black. I used a black hat with rose accessories to go with the red roses she likes. I used a red handbag in a heart shape, since she is the the queen of hearts. And her place is overed in hearts. You could also cary around cards if you wanted to. For the shoes I got ones that gold, black and red detailing to match her dress. This look is very 1920s. You dont have to do this area.

For the next outfit I have a 1950s Dutchess, the Aristocats, look. As you can use by the picture, Dutchess is very simple and easy. She has white fur so I got this pretty skater, white dress. I paired with a gold bag and gold heels to match her collar. You dont have to use this but I also paired this look with a fur shawl to go with the charater. See pretty easy and simple.

Next we have Constance Hatchaway, from the Haunted Mansion. No one really knows who this is but if you are a super fan like I am then you will know that Constance is the Bride in the attraction Haunted Mansion righ before you see the hatbox ghost and go down to the cementary. So Constance is a bride and I wanted to get that Jessica Rabbit 1920s feel to it, I chose this pretty long white simple dress. I paired it with blue heels since she is a ghost and appears to glow blueish. And since she holds an axe on the ride, I found this cool axe handbag tha appears to have blood on it. Last but not least I found this flapper birdcage headband. I chose a birdcage because again she is a bride and want to appear to have a veil but not a super long one to carry around with you.

Last outfit is an Lumiere, from Beauty and the Beast, 1920s look. I chose this super pretty gold, glittery dress that has an illusion bottom to it. I paired with gold shoes ( i wouldnt usually do this, pair gold on gold) tha go with the characer who is a all gold/yellow color. I couldnt find any pretty yellow shoes or dress that I liked so I though gold was the next best thing. Lastly I paired this whole outfit with a white hat that had a gold detail on it. And thats that look. Another easy one!

What did you guys think of the outfits? Did i help you? Any of you going to Dapper Day this sunday, Nov. 6th, 2016?

See y'all next time

Iconic Entrance | #SecretSunday | YoutubeMakeup94

Hey there beautifuls, I have uploaded a new video on my youtube channel. I have started this series where I talk about a certain disney/disneyland secret or fact. I upload these videos every sunday.

For today's video I talked about the iconic entrance at Disneyland. We all know the first thing people general do is take a picture in front of the flower bed after they get their ticket scanned. But did you know that its been that iconic since 1955, when the park first opened. Learn more in my new video below:

Disney Secret #47: Character Shop

The Character Shop opened in 1967 as part of Disneyland’s New Tomorrowland. The space had previously been occupied by Fun Photos. When Star Tours opened in 1987 adjacent to the Character Shop, the shop was re-themed as Star Traders.

By the mid-1990s, it seemed that almost every shop in Disneyland had become a “character shop.” Today, in stores throughout the park, Disneyland relies heavily on Disney plush toys, current Disney movie-themed merchandise, and other goods featuring new and classic Disney characters.

Disney Secret #46: Park Entrance

When Disneyland opened in 1955, the park entrance already had the iconic features that it still has today—the Mickey Mouse flowerbed, the handsome train depot with a clock tower, and the two tunnels on either side leading to the Town Square at Main Street, U.S.A. On the inside, the sidewalks were painted red concrete. But outside the park, the pavement was simply asphalt.

Chain link fence
Even before you enter the park, you can take a snapshot of Main Street Station and one of the trains that stops there. As an added bonus, your photo will include the industrial chain link fence (topped with barbed wire) that separates the paid admission area from where you are now.1964

Posing in front of the Mickey flowerbed
Here’s a photo tip for you: When you’re snapping a shot in front of the station, frame your shot so that it cuts off the bare concrete wall and the asphalt pavement.

And try not to let a man with a hat walk into your shot. 1956

Floral Mickey
In 1998, the retaining wall on the flowerbed planter in front of Main Street Station was still gray concrete.

Basic concrete planter wall
Once you pass through the entrance turnstiles, the floral Mickey Mouse head is always a pleasure to see. It makes a great photo background. The flowerbed is retained by a bare concrete wall. 1960

From the Monorail in 2013
The current appearance of the Disneyland entrance is the result of work done in 1999. Here’s how the Los Angeles Times (“Disneyland Overhaul Set for Fall” by E. Scott Reckard, August 11, 1999) reported on the project.

Disneyland officials have their sights set on some major refurbishments immediately after Labor Day. “There will be construction all over the place,” says an employee who was briefed on the plans. “Pirates [of the Caribbean] will be down. The Autopia will be down. And they’re going to really rip up the main entrance for some major, major work.”

The major work on the main entrance included the construction of four entirely new ticket booths to serve the existing park and the second theme park, then under construction. Put into service in 2000, the new booths had a combined total of 32 ticket windows for the two parks—the same as what the old booths had for one park.

Red painted concrete pavement
By 1998, the asphalt entrance was long-gone. In early 1980, Disneyland put in concrete pavement, including a tree-lined “mall” extending into the parking lot. The concrete was painted brownish red. 1998

Fancy iron fence
A fence can be beautiful and functional. And that’s what the fences at the Disneyland entrance are now.

People miss many things from the Disneyland of long ago—but it’s doubtful anyone misses the chain link fencing. 2013

Asphalt pavement
When your family poses for a photo near the west exit, the Passenger Train in the background looks great. And nobody will notice the stained asphalt and unedged lawn, right?

Entrance gates
The major work also included the entrance enhancements—pavers, bricks, new entrance gates with Victorian details, and other embellishments—that we now enjoy (and take for granted) at Disneyland Park.

Similar, but better than before
The long tradition of the floral Mickey Mouse continues, only now the planter wall is red brick. Red pavers have replaced the red painted concrete which replaced the asphalt. The attraction posters that once blocked the flowerbed along part of the wall are long-gone—but fortunately such posters are still displayed in the entrance tunnels and elsewhere. 2013

Ticket booths
The 16 two-window ticket booths in front of Disneyland’s entrance gates were getting close to the end of their lives in 1998.
